Morris Somerset Beekeepers Assn: Basic Beekeeping

This 2 day course (Mar 27 and Apr 2, 2022) with hands-on activities will cover all aspects of entry level beekeeping for the Hobbyist in NJ. No prior knowledge of honey bees or beekeeping is required.

Start 8:00 am. End approx 5:30 pm.
Class size is limited to 20 students.
NJBA scholarship is available.
Attendees must be at least 16 years of age.

Equipment and Assembly
Location and Products

Day 2:

Getting your bees
Packages and Nucs
Diseases and Pests
Pest Management

Harvesting and Extracting
Hands-On in the Beeyard

Field Day to be determined.

Book "Storey's Guide to Keeping Honey Bees" by Malcolm Sandford and Richard Bonney and hand outs will be provided.

Light breakfast and lunch provided.

$25 discount for active 4-H and FFA members; as well as Veteran's and Healthcare professionals, verification required. Enter the corresponding code: 4-H, FFA, Vet or HC when registering.

Masks are not required by the venue and are at the discretion of the individual.
