Our picnic is open to family and friends of NJBA members and anyone else with an interest in beekeeping. Rain or shine, the event takes place in covered pavilions to protect us from the weather.
This year we will have presentations from a Penn State bee researcher, a student presentation about monitoring bees, and a kids activity where they can make something to take home.
Oak Tree Lodge provides many different playing fields and playgrounds for both adults and children. Feel free bring your own adult beverages in non-glass containers, the facilities are BYOB.

12:45 - Presentation 1 by Selina Bruckner Dr. of Entomology at Penn State on different types of mite treatments/non-treatments
1:00 – Lunch Begins and will be served until 3pm
1:15 - Live music provided by Slugger O'Toole
2:00 - Kids activity: Bee Antennae Headbands and other activities
2:15 - Student Presentation: "A Bee Monitoring Study"
2:45 - Presentation 2 by Dr Selina Bruckner will be a surprise topic of her choosing
4:00 - Raffle Drawings for lots of Prizes (must bee present to win)
4:45 - Closing Remarks
